The Raptisagar Express is a super fast express train which runs tri-weekly between Trivandrum Central in Kerala state and Gorakhpur city in Uttar Pradesh state in India. This train goes via the cities of Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Chennai, Vijayawada, Nagpur, Bhopal, Jhansi, Kanpur, and Lucknow in India.
The current operator of the train is northern eastern railway.
Name of the Train
The name "Raptisagar" is given to the train as the train connects the cities [[Trivandrum Centra]|Thiruvananthapuram] which is situated near Arabian Sea and Gorakhpur from where Rapti river flows. There is another train with the same name connecting Ernakulam Junction and Barauni Junction.

This train has 23 coach cars which includes Second AC and Third AC compartments being air conditioned.
Schedule
The train leaves Trivandrum Central at 6.15 in the morning on Tuesday, Wednesday & Sunday to reach Gorakhpur at 3.10 in the evening on the 3rd day. The return train (12511) leaves Gorakhpur at 6.35 AM on Thursday, Friday and Sunday to reach Trivandrum Central at 5.30 PM on the 3rd day. The train has an average speed of about 58 km/h during its journey.
