Zulip is a chat and collaborative software created by Jessica McKellar and Tim Abbott in 2012.[1][2] In 2014, the company was acquired by Dropbox.[3][2] In September 2015, Dropbox licensed it with an open-sourced Apache license.[4] It is intended to be an open-source alternative to Slack or HipChat.[5]
