Season

Coached by Luigi Radice, Inter had an awful start of season failing in Coppa Italia already at group stage and losing 3 of 4 first league matches: fans used to describe it as a year of tears and blood.[2] When the spring of 1984 was about to begin, Ernesto Pellegrini became the new chairman buying the club from Ivanoe Fraizzoli.[3]

Inter resulted to have the best defence of league[4], conceding only 23 goals in 30 games and getting a fourth place.[3] This placement let the side take part in 1984–85 UEFA Cup.[5]
