Karolina Juszczykowska

Karolina Juszczykowska (1898–1945) is one of the Righteous Among the Nations. She lived in Poland, and hid Jewish people in her home, for which she was condemned to death and executed. She was a kitchen worker for Organization Todt before her arrest. The two Jewish people found hiding in her home (whose names she said were Janek and Paul) were killed. She told the police that she was single and had a daughter born outside of marriage. In 2011 Yad Vashem recognized her as one of the Righteous Among the Nations. In 2012 Stephen Harper, then the Prime Minister of Canada, gave a keynote address to the Jewish community and honored the families of Juszczykowska and Klass and Jetske Dreijer.
