LaptopMD is a New York based IT service with across the Tri-State area.[1] Launched in 1999 by Arthur Zilberman,[2] the service provides repair for most devices, including computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets and more.[3]
The flagship office is located on 35th Street (Manhattan) between 7th and 8th Avenues, next to Penn Station. Because of its location, tourists[4] tend to rely heavily on LaptopMD and staff members speak English, Spanish, Russian, Hungarian, Polish, Ukrainian and Tatar. The service has also launched two locations in New Jersey:[5] Pompton Plains[6] and Morristown,[7] as well as three sister service offices in Florida and one in North Carolina.
History
In 1999, Arthur Zilberman founded LaptopMD.[8] Technological advances such as web-based live chat earn the service three to four extra customers a day.[9]
Zilberman prioritized speedy recovery. Most repairs can be done on the same day including smartphone screen replacements in as fast as 15 minutes.[10]
In 2012, Zilberman opened a LaptopMD location in Pequannock Township, New Jersey for the convenience of New Jersey clients.[11] The success of the Pompton Plains location led to further expansion, with the 2015 opening of LaptopMD's third location in Morristown, New Jersey.
Sister Services
Matt Ham, a managing partner of LaptopMD, moved to Florida in early 2013 and opened Computer Repair Doctor, a sister service of LaptopMD. He desired for the new business to "provide the same high level of quality repair services that Matt oversaw in New York."[12] Computer Repair Doctor received a Dandi Award in 2014, an award given to a “business that demonstrated the capacity to growth both in business and civic life.”[13]
Along with LaptopMD, Zilberman is owner of Data Recovery MD,[14] a data recovery service founded in 2015. Data RecoveryMD serves the entire United States and some parts of Canada with Level 3 data recovery.
