acetyl-CoA + pyruvate

This enzyme belongs to the family of lyases, specifically the oxo-acid-lyases, which cleave carbon-carbon bonds. The systematic name of this enzyme class is (3S)-citramalyl-CoA pyruvate-lyase (acetyl-CoA-forming).
