Adya Prasad Chaturvedi ‘Jai Gurudev’ (Hindi: जय गुरुदेव) was an eminent writer of Hindi literature and a noted homeopath doctor in India.

Childhood

Adya Prasad was born at Choubakpur, Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh. His ancestors were Saryuparin Brahmins and commanded great respect. He completed his medical education from Bombay.

Marriage and Family

Dr Chaturvedi was married to Kalpana Chaturvedi who was daughter of a famous landlord in Jalalpur, Ram Narayan Mishra, also known as ‘Raadhi Mishr’. They together had 2 sons and 2 daughters. His eldest son is also a doctor. His elder daughter is married to Wing Commander Janardan Tiwari, a former Indian Air Force officer and son of Diwakar Tiwari. Former IAS officer, Brij Bhushan Chaturvedi is son-in-law of his elder brother and hence related to him.

Life

Dr Chaturvedi practiced medicine at various places like Atraulia, Barabanki, Jalalpur, Lucknow, Pilibhit, Rudauli, etc. Simultaneously he published articles in various newspapers and wrote books and translated the religious texts in Hindi.

He translated many religious books from Sanskrit to Hindi and wrote many Hindi poems.[1]
