Victor V. Goryunov is a Russian mathematician working in geometry and topology. In particular he works in singularity theory, Vassiliev type invariants of plane curves, and Legendrian knots.[1] He completed his PhD thesis, titled "Surface projection singularities", at Moscow's Lomonosov State University in 1981. As of 2009 he was a professor of mathematics at the University of Liverpool.[2] He is an editorial advisor of the journal Proceedings of the London Mathematical Society.
